How To Actually Clean Up Your Box Lunch

It’s almost back to school time. I know I can’t believe it either. It got me thinking about what we put in our box lunch and how to clean it up. So here are a few things you can switch up.

How To Actually Clean Up Your Box Lunch: Silicone Bags

So most likely you have or are using a sandwich bag in your box lunch made of plastic that you throw away when you are done. No shame we literally still have some in our pantry so in no way do I have it all together. We most likely use it when people want something from our house and they use those baggies every day anyway. Once they are gone though we are not buying more. Anyways all that to say a way to make a switch to something better is to get a few stasher bags. They are silicone and can be washed and reused.

Glass Containers

Now this one would only work for adults in their box lunch but it really is a great way to cut out the plastics in your life. Cut out the plastic is so much better for your health. Glass containers are so easy to clean and looks nice. They come in a pack you can get just about anywhere. They make really small to really big ones. You need all the sizes but having more bigger ones is a great idea.

Stainless Steel Containers

Of course, another one that people can use in place of Tupperware is stainless steel in your box lunch. It works so well and is actually really great for anyone of all ages. They can come on single ones, or in a package. Those are the rectangle ones and they seem to hold the most but the round ones work just as well.

Glass Straws

Now I can’t say that I never use a plastic straw because most places hand out plastic straws but glass is a great place to start if you want to slowly switch over to cleaning up your box lunch.

Stainless Steel Straws

Out of all the things listed here, stainless steel straws are the items we have had the longest. Mostly because it was the cheapest lol. But I don’t really use straws so this sits more then it gets used. Totally worth having though.

Box Lunch

Yeti

Yeti is our go-to for most of our drinks cups except when we are using our glass mason jar. Yes, the lid is still plastic but the rest is stainless steel so I take the lid off 90% of the time. I have the 14oz mug and all the way up to the 30oz ramblers. The picture above shows just how we are a little crazy about them.

Box Lunch

Swell

Now if you can’t afford any of these asked for them for a gift. Swell is one I got as a gift Christmas 2018 and I use it all the time. It’s one of the smaller ones but it holds the water I need to drink so I’ll take it. Plus they come in the coolest designs. They do come smaller if you need it fit in a box lunch.

To sum this up to clean up for box lunch switch items to silicone baggies, glass or stainless steel containers, glass or stainless steel straws, and stainless steel reusable drinking cups.

Ps. Please don’t feel the pressure or need to go out and get all these items right now. Put these items in your budget or add them to a gift list. Save up for the items and then get them.
