How to Get the Best Beach Hair

June 2, 2018 By Elizabeth Kramar Leave a Comment

When it comes to getting the best beach hair it can be easy. Sure you can get a product turn on your blow dryer twirl it around and pray it’s curly. Just to see it be a mess of well hair. Let’s talk about an easier way that gets you beach hair even if you are just going to work. You may even find yourself putting a tiny umbrella in your water because you feel so beachy.

How to Get the Best Beach Hair: Shower

It all starts with a shower. Be sure to use a hydrating conditioner. This will help keep your hair at it’s best state. As long as you do this every so often you will be fine. A good rule of thumb for hydrating conditioner is when your hair feels dry and brittle use the conditioner. If this step is missed the next steps will make your hair worse not better so please be sure to hydrate. I just started using the innersense one at least once a week. I was using Acure but my hair needs to switch things up every so often.

Leave In Conditioner

So this can be a detangler as well. This will help make your hair soft, more manageable, and light. I find this really helps set the tone for the next steps. I go between using Innersense (this one smells AMAZING) and Boyzz Only to keep my hair from not getting used to one product. They both work really great. I do tend to like the innersense one more but the boyzz only I use more when I’m on the go. For all these product be sure to use the Think Dirty app to help you make the best choose for yourself.

Sea Salt Spray

Now this is the best part. I have never found a product like the sea salt spray. You literally just spray and go. As the day goes on your hair just gets these cute beachy waves. Like I’d to say there is more to it because it seems like there should be but really there isn’t. It’s a fun way to get out the door fast in the morning and look great throughout the day. I use three different ones. Two are from Captain Blankenship: Organic Mermaid Hair Spray, and Organic Golden Waves Sea Salt Shimmer. The other I use every so often and that is from John Masters Organics. I got that one from Ulta so next time you are in there take a look at that as well. Please note do not use this product everyday. I have found sea salt to majorly dry out your hair so do less then more. I was doing this everyday so let’s just say I learned this the hard way.

So with all the being said let’s recap. Wash your hair and keep it wet, spray in your leave in conditioner, and spray sea salt spray. Seriously that is it. I know SUPER easy.

Do you have another way you achieve great beach hair? Great! Feel free to leave it in the comments.

Ways to Spend Time Alone

May 31, 2018 By Elizabeth Kramar Leave a Comment

When it comes to spending time alone it seems to be something we rarely do. We give ourselves a mile long list of things to do but spending time isn’t on there. So to help you get started I’d like to give you some ideas. These are things that can be scheduled once a week or once a month. Your time is super important but please remind your well being is worth all this as well. So put it on the calendar as often as you need.

Ways to Spend Time Alone: Read

This is one people that like to read already do. People that doesn’t care to read run for the hills away from books. Audiobook maybe a good option for you because books offer something online and youtube just can’t. So find something you are into or want to learn more about. Give yourself a night to sit on the couch and reading, listen, or both and see how it goes. Spending time alone to read clears your mind and gives you insight you have never heard before. Best part is you can add your favorite food and drink to it and it’s perfect.

Bath

Now when is the last time you actually took a hot bath? If you are anything like me it tends to never happen even if you would like it to. Normally if my husband is watching sports I’ll go take a book and relax in the tub. I throw some epsom salt with lavender essential oil in and relax. If you are feeling under the weather at all this is a great thing to do a few nights a week. It really pulls the toxins out and gets you back to feeling better.

Coffee

Of course you can go to a coffee shop and get something besides coffee but something about sitting in a coffee shop is hands down relaxing. You can bring your favorite book while you sip your drink or be on your laptop. Something about people sitting around just doing there own thing is super relaxing. Coffee shops are open early and late so you really can go there anytime to be alone and relax.

Book Store

If you can’t tell by my books are my thing I’m not sure we can be friends. Just kidding. There is something about going to Barnes and Noble picking up a book grabbing a coffee and just reading. Book stores are different then a library and way more relaxing. With this world always being in a hurry with this and that books stores just always seem slow and relaxing. I could truly get lost in a bookstore for a day.

So in closing ideas on spending time alone are: Read or listen to a book, take a hot bath, go to a coffee shop, and/or go to a book store. The amount of time you have will help you choose which one is best for you. I wish you a happy and relaxing alone time.

Do you have some idea on how you spend you alone time? Great! Join our community and get in on the conversion. We would love to have ya.

How to Get Rid of Itchy Scalp

April 17, 2018 By Elizabeth Kramar Leave a Comment

Having an itchy scalp is the literally the most annoying thing ever! Not as annoying as running out of coffee but it’s close. If your itchy scalp is anything like mine we have to get rid of it. Are you the person that has 10 different shampoos and conditioners because all the sudden that shampoo and conditioner stops working? I mean like won’t  lather up and you get a film in your hair once it’s blow dried? Me too! Let’s go over ways to kick this to the curb all together.

How to Get Rid of Itchy Scalp: Ashes

So trying new products after dealing with itchy scalp can be tough because who wants to spend money on one more thing that will just end up not working. How about trying a powder or coconut oil to help combat itchy scalp? I’ve done the coconut oil mask and rinse them out in the morning. It for sure leaves my hair super soft but the itch is back in a day or two. I got in introduced to the powder called Ashes. I did get it on Amazon but my friend the Organic Bunny talks about and sells it as well. So how it works is you put your shampoo in your hand. Take the powder and sprinkle it over your shampoo. Put a hand full of water over the powder so it started bubbling up. Then shampoo your hair like normal. It works for itchy scalp and scalp buildup. I do for both whenever I feel my shampoo not working anymore and it works again great the next time.

Sugar

Your amount of sugar intake is huge for the itchy scalp factor. I know who wants to cut back on the amount of sugar they eat. I have found that once you have been off of it when you try it again it really doesn’t taste as good. Trust me 5 years ago I would have yelled at myself for saying that because I LOVE candy. Try eating foods that contain Stevia (If you have a ragweed allergy might want to double check this one as stevia is apart of the ragweed family), or MonkFruit. With monkfruit you can make any recipe what ever the amount of sugar it calls for put the same amount in monkfruit. It tastes really good. Try switching just that one ingredient and see how that goes for ya.

Water

Now water could probably be a post all in itself. But think about right now just this week how much water have you drank a day? Our bodies need so much water it’s crazy. They say to drink half of you body weight in oz but I’m learning to just drink water all day. I may switch it up to coffee, or tea but water is what you will see in my hand 90% of the day. Water really does a lot of things but it help flash things out and that can help get the stuff out that is making your itchy scalp happen in the first place.

So that is it! Use powder like ashes, cut out your sugar intake and try something new in it’s place, and then drink water. These three things alone can be tough but for sure can change your life if you embrace it.

Have something you do that helps with your itchy scalp? Great! Feel free to join our community and get in on the conversation.

Best Organic Coffee Bean

April 11, 2018 By Elizabeth Kramar Leave a Comment

The organic coffee bean. Why must you be so hard to find. I mean you can find coffee anywhere. But a good one that comes from a fair trade place and tastes good. Now that has been hard. So after many lbs of coffee and probably too many cups I found one I can’t stop talking about. Enter into your life Out of the Grey Coffee.

Best Organic Coffee Bean: Sample

So to be honest I reached out to Out of the Grey Coffee. I like that they are all about God and being organic and fair trade coffee bean. Java Jack emailed me back and asked what I like. I answered back thinking well coffee is coffee and said to surprise me. After a few days of trying both of the bags I realized maybe I don’t like every roast out there. I found I like light to medium roasts and I got two dark roasts. Don’t get my wrong they were still amazing they just didn’t wow me like I was looking for. Let’s break down what all I have tried and my thoughts on each.

Rise & Shine Organic Coffee Blend

This one is a light roast so I had to order some light roast after trying a few darks. Two sips in I knew I made the right choice. This blend is smooth but has enough good taste that it makes you excited to wake up in the morning. The review on there website said it’s a great way to start your day and I literally could not agree more!

Amedeo Organic Coffee Blend

Now this one is another light roast one. I do get all my coffee’s in regular whole coffee bean form. I then run the beans through my electric coffee grinder and then brew it with my ninja coffee bar on the rich brew setting. This one has one of the most and best reviews. One person talked about it how it never gets bitter and I literally think that about nails it on the head. I’m pretty sure I have drank way more cups of this each day then I should be lol. Totally worth it.

Single Origin Neg Mawon Organic Coffee

So this one is my last light roast one I have for ya. Ok, first it supports Haitian coffee-growing families so that is amazing. Second it is low acidity which is good for people that have higher acid bodies. It has oranges, nuts, and semi-sweet chocolate so you really can’t go wrong. I add some coconut milk and munk fruit at times and it’s really amazing.

Milk Chocolate Organic Espresso Beans

Since Java Jack is sweet he gave me some of these and they are amazing. Since they are espresso beans that do have alot of energy in them. So eat just a few at a time and try not to go overboard. I mean I’ve never done that myself or anything lol. They are so good and they would make a perfect gift to the coffee lover in your life.

out of the grey coffee

Single Origin Colombian Medellin Excelso Organic Coffee

This is a medium roast. This one is a little on the heavy side for me but still good. You for sure can taste the chocolate in it. Also it has an AMAZING smell. I do love that all the coffee bean bags are resealable and can be stored in the fridge super easy and without a spill. This one is a great one to try as your first bag of coffee from Out of the Grey coffee.

D’enzo Organic Coffee Blend

This is a dark roast coffee bean. For all the dark roast lovers this one seems to be a hit. It did not taste bad to me I just didn’t get as excited as the others. These guys take great care of everything they make so any roast you like and then buy you will be sure to love. These are 6 of my first products I have tired of theres but are for sure not the last. I can not wait to try more.

To wrap up first know what coffee bean roast you like which is light, medium, or dark. Once you know what that is go check out out of the grey coffee and enjoy! They really do have some of the best organic and fair trade coffee bean blends around. If you need any help at all Java jack is AMAZING to work with.

Have a favorite coffee roast you love? Great! Feel free to share it in the comments below.

Easter Crafts Will Change Your Life

March 26, 2018 By Elizabeth Kramar Leave a Comment

Easter crafts they can either make or break your holiday. Kids love them and parents tend to dread them. If we play our cards right we can make this more enjoyable for all. So let’s talk about ways do to just that.

Easter Crafts Will Change Your Life: Memories

Now with anything, we tend to be on our phones more then we do anything else. How about finding crafts that fit your family and make you want to put down your phone and enjoy the moment. The ones that tend to be a favorite for all is baking. We get all eat something yummy in the end so what is there not to love? Rice Krispie nests are a popular one. Cakes and muffins are fun too! Easter crafts are all about getting crafty so don’t be afraid to do just that.

Cards

Of course of the best things, kids like to give and receive are cards. They have some of the cutest things they want to say in there easter craft card so trace there hand on a piece of colored paper and ask them what they want to say to there grandparents. The cutest things will come out of there mouths and you will love to write it as much as they will love to say it. Cards make everyone feel good.

Drawing

When is the last time you actually sat down and drew something? It’s been awhile I know but right now you can do it. With the cutest kids around sitting right next to you drawing too! To really make it fun how about think of one or two easter things to draw and make a winner. Best drawing gets a hug and a treat. See being crafty doesn’t have to be all about the kids.

Outside

Once you have done all the crafts inside take a step outside and start a water balloon fight. Yes, you will get wet and probably mess up your hair and makeup but I mean all the laughs you will hear is totally worth it. Sometimes we just have to have fun and take care of the mess later. I plan on surprising my husband with these water balloon filler and seeing what he thinks.

Mason Jars

Have you seen the cute little mason jars people fill with yummy snacks? If you can’t already tell I’m a sucker for a good snack. To be able to turn easter crafts into a snack for all I’m in. Ask the kids what their favorite treat is and add that in the jar and hand them out to the family. You can’t go wrong and EVERYONE will love it. I mean everyone.

So before we close here let’s go over some great Easter crafts ideas again for ya. Make memories that make you want to put down the phone starting with baked goods. Helps the kids make a card. Start a family drawing contests. Get outside and let the kids get messy. Fill mason jars with yummy snacks. Once the day is over don’t forget about some self-care.

So those are my fun ideas on how Easter crafts will change your life. Do you have some of your own ideas? Great! Feel free to share them in the comments below.
