With the launch of the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, everyone with IOS got a new phone update. That now gives us the ability to choose a screen time setting if we choose to. This is something I need in my life but didn’t actually know until the update came. This is because we truly have no idea how much we are actually on our phones in a day. Can you even imagine what the next generation will be like? We can’t look up from our phones now. This is why really knocking down your screen time is such a good idea.
iPhone Screen Time Setting Is Genius: Get Your Life Back
On your phone, there is an area you can go before this setting became a thing and see how much you use your phone in a day. I’ve heard people say that anymore we are on our phones more then we are off of it in a day. Just walk around a busy area full of people and you will see that. Can you imagine what restaurants would be like if we all only limited ourselves to an hour a day screen time on our phones? We would actually be able to have a conversation without looking at someone’s head. We would all stop multi-tasking. Productivity would go up. We would get a life of peace and relax back. How can we expect to relax when we have things beeping and trying to get our attention?
We Would Smile More
Do you know that everytime you log into anywhere on social media you automatically compare yourself to others? Ya sure you don’t mean to but you log into Instagram and see this most adorable rug you have ever seen in your life. Even more adorable than the one you just had to buy last week. No, you don’t need a new rug and no you didn’t mean to say man she has everything cute. In all honesty, she is probably thinking the exact thing about you everytime you post or say anything online. Can you imagine if after an hour all your social media is blocked for the rest of the day and all you have to do is your work and enjoy your nice new rug? You would smile more because screen time has shut you down and made you enjoy what you already have.
We are the biggest group of people in history who are in debt and continue to get deeper and deeper into it. Why? Think about how much more you are sold to every day. Think about how everything you say you need this and that around your phone the next ads that pop up is that item. We are being sold to in our emails, social media, and on Amazon even though we are “just looking” man amazon it so smart. Less screen time means less buying anything. We can want something we can’t see. Yes, it’s discipline and yes you will want to shut off the screen time function altogether. I challenge for one month just switch your social media to one hour total a day. See what you can get done.
So to wrap this up by just turning your social to turn off after an hour total of use you will get your life back, you will smile more because there is nothing to compare yourself to, and you will buy less which will help you get out the debt you have been trying to get out of for months.
